This artwork investigates the discomfort that members of the transgender community experience when using public restrooms. The female and male bathrooms juxtaposed on the left and right side respectively, reveal the cold nature of the binary bathroom system. Although there is greater tolerance for gender nonconforming people, attacks on those who identify as transgender are still prevalent, especially on social media. The artist's work mimics the vulnerability experienced by transgender individuals in binary spaces like restrooms. Public restrooms are intimate yet shared spaces, but many people feel exposed and looked at when accessing these spaces.
